Hello Gentlemen and Lady(ies)

Where:  Streets of Willow (Rosamond, CA).  Home of SubieFest 2008
When:  Friday, February 20, 2009
Fee:  $140 (additional 40 if you want to play on the skidpad)

It's that time of year again!  I'm hoping you can all attend this.  I've been looking to go back to the track ever since my turbo blew up last year.  Depending on my plans for the subaru and datsun, this might be my last track event.

For those of you have gone in the past, Streets of willow is a very tight course.  Huge horsepower isn't that important.  The major factor here is how light, nimble, and how fast it can turn.  There is a straightaway that will give some opportunities to pass, but this is all for yourself & your car (or a borrowed car) How hard can you push yourself?  There aren't any embankments or walls to hit on this track.  If you slide out, you'll just go sliding into the dirt.

You'll need a SNELL rated helmet, find one, borrow one.   The only other requirement is your car is in good mechanical condition (no major fluid leaks).  Other than that, I hope to see you all there! It's on a friday, so you'll need to take the day off.  Friday gives more track time that the weekend folk who go.  And for you RWD dudes, for an extra $40, you can have access to the skidpad.  Hell, borrow my iphone to see how many Gs you can pull or just go up there to practice some DORIFTO!!

I know, i know, $140 is pretty steep.  But a speeding ticket alone on a boring freeway is more than that already.  So here's a place to speed and drive semi-recklessly.  Pass it on NASIOC or contact xXx if you'd like.

Go here to register:

Thanks!
Anson

Nope, this is all about learning what you and your car can do in a safe environment.  I normally go to see if I can be a better driver, learn how to control understeer, my turbo lag, etc.  More than likely, we'll be in the beginner / intermediate group because of zero track time.  However, if you seem to be doing better than the others in the group (ie, catching them in corners, etc) you can run with a group in the higher level.

Only requirement is the car doesnt' leak, passes tech inspection, and you have a good helmet.  Snell approved helmet to be safe.

You can get a transponder to see your laptimes, but racing against the clock isn't my thing.  I just want to know how I hold up against the better handling cars.  Everyone from the novice to the track prepped cars are very supportive and helpful.

You won't break anything if you don't know when to stop pushing the limits of yourself and the wagon. C'mon, peer pressure's a bitch isn't it?

don't wimp out on us.  I hear a whole lot of chopping but I dont' see any wood flying.  Grin    We haven't seen you in the last 8 meets or so.

Feb 7th is a friday.   I typically leave thurs night and get a good night's rest and taking the Friday off from work.  Driver check-in time is typically 7-730am.

Save up Smiley  Hell, depending on what's going on, you might even have a 20G to use at the track.   I can't promise we'll be sharing a motel room because the last time we did, you put fresh ground pepper in the vaseline.  It was totally not fun.

If there is money leftover from the BBQ, I would like to have it offset some of the track entry costs for the VERY ACTIVE F4 members. But that's obviously not my call.
