I started swapping out my stock control arms with the aluminum sti ones i got..and i came accross one big snag, i cant remove my drivers side ball joint from the hub. Anyone wanna come up to NoHo and give me a hand? (this is prolly mostly directed to anson..lol) basically i sprayed the snot out of the thing with PB Blaster and tried to get rid of as much rust as i could, The thing is spinning in the perch so its free...but for some reason, it just wont pop outta the hub...(the pass side popped out with just a little bit of hammering.

the car is drivable sort of...like the ball join has a tear and most of the grease is gone (it was torn to begin with and more obviously when i tried to pop it out...and failed).

Sometimes a pickle fork will do it, but I hope the air hammer works out.  I'm lending my car out to a friend so I'll be rockin' a Tacoma Prerunner.

C'mon, where's the rain?! I need to get diiiiirty.

Coilovers?  Oh you know, maybe from a wagon?  Tein Flex.  Less power in it's future will mean I don't have to keep all the power to the ground anymore.

Is this something you'd entertain irie?  We can lift the cars up quickly and quickly test it out Smiley   I have a feeling you're right.  And don't pull out the "girls are always right" card  Grin

^if u wanna get some springs... Swift springs are pretty good.  I have tanabe gf210 and they are fine.  the GF refers to "grip force" which is supposed to improve handling rather than just a drop.  As for the drop, they dropped my car about 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back after settling.

BUT!.... i dont want my springs anymore..... want coils.  I thought about upgrading my struts but swapping springs & struts sucks. haha

^they should fit... i just looked up the specs on Tanabe... and besides stating for wrx vs Sti, the specs are the same.  UNLESS... the different comes from the size of the spring (by that I mean how they actually fit into the struts).

Actually... just looked again, they are the same part #, so Yes, they would fit.

I'm considering downgrading the wagon some after track day.  So leave it open unless you're on a timeline.  They're newly rebuilt Tein Flex's with an extra set of springs that are short enough to clear 285s.  The spring rate on those are a bit stiffer and provides little rebound on daily driving.
