I'm not saying this to have an ego, but people say I'm a good / nice person. So much so, my ex (technically still married, waiting for court papers) knows she can take advantage of me.
But, being the sensitive dork i am, i've been reading books about addiction, codependency, etc and all the behavior that comes with it. in a nut shell, i have to find a fine line where i can still be emotionally free from her, not hate her (it would cause some resentment that vincent doesn't need to see nor hear), but still have to see her twice a week during the handoff/
so I hate her, but know i shouldn't. i'm upset with myself for being a boob. she's a waste of my time & energy. discussing this with a 5 year old and have him understand the dynamics is difficult. he has questions, but it's unfair for me to persuade his judgement against his own mom. he always talks about and draws pictures with all 3 of us together....it's tough.
i need a drink.

If it smells like shit, it probably is. I dont' care how much i stare at it, or WILL it to be something else, it's still a piece of shit. hell, maybe i can be logical about it and think it's a nice piece of shit versus a mean piece of shit. so i have to accept it and walk around it. if i step on it, it'll just follow me forever.

sometimes you just need to say... you deal with it. Its your problem not OUR problem. Thats the only way some will learn.
Id say be the best dad you can be for vincent and in time you will be able to talk with him about the whole situation.

Having hate in ur life will just bring you down, learn to forgive and let it go, hating someone only means ur still holding on and not ready to completely let go.
